La place du Capitole,Toulouse

Stalking on the slats of the rain
each predator keeping to the grid
steel-silver in partial monochrome
discreet ritual of printing and burning
black on black
never closing on the layers and circles
of shadows within shadow
imagining, incandescent
a fragile zest of pre-Raphaelite death
pegging out mirrors
liquidly as lures and hissing
to the snares of grinning diesel
this city still loving its tigers
