Her penance is scattered
among the father-lovers
and re-livers of grief.
She listens to the wind
intoning a libidinous
requiem, sucking the roofs
and absent leaves
from under the firestack
cracking in ashy suspense
and waiting on the
Advent. I am the witness
and only pray for cleansing
